With just over 24 hours untill the picks start, here's what we'd like to see the Giants do. First, it's important not to trade up for anyone. This draft is too deep to be 2 for 1ing anyone. Second, if the value is not right at 15 trade down and get more picks. In fact, other than getting three great players over the first three rounds, the Giants #1 priority should be getting more picks. There are two basic ways to do that. First, they can trade down in the first. Second, they can trade Osi, with a high 2 being part of the package. Third they could do both.
If they stay at 15 they've got to get an impact player. Those that could be there are CJ Spiller, Dez Bryant, Joe Haden, Earl Thomas and Jason Pierre-Paul. I think Spiller is the best bet for somone the Giants would actually take. Bryant would be great with Nicks, but I don't think they'll do it. Haden and Thomas are both ballhawks, though the fact that Kenny Phillips is running makes me think S won't be a first round consideration. JPP is probably the most controversial player I have named here. But take a look at the tape I posted. This guy is a freak and the Giants have a good program for bringing along DE's. He also let's you get your best offer for Osi right off the bat.
Now, if Spiller is gone. I think the Giants should trade down then see if any of the group I've named are still there, or start looking at Iupati, Pouncey, Davis (if he falls), Jahvid Best, Brandon Graham, and Jerry Hughes.
Ultimately the twin goals for Thursday/Friday are to get a great player in the first round, but also add at least one more second round pick. We'll talk more about the second and third rounds on Thursday and Friday. Go Giants!
