A Yankee Doodle Grandy!

Curtis Granderson didn't waste any time jumping feet first into the Yankee/Sawx rivalry. He won tonight's game in the top of the tenth with a homer of their closer! Sure, he's had a bat ab or two against lefties, but that was his second jack of the series, and he's playing good CF. A terrific night for Grandy, Andy Pettitte, Chan Ho Park and Mo. Nick Johnson and Tex are both still hitless, though Nick walked to load the bases for Tex who put us up 2 in the tenth with an RBI groundout. Big win. Tomorrow's an offday, then it's Vazquez against the Rays. Go Yanks!

I think I recall you recommending that the Yankees should trade for Granderson in like 2004, when it appeared that Craig Monroe might be their CF. Monroe seemed like a player for a while, and then faded into near oblivion.

I've always liked Granderson. His old home park was killing him, but I think he will really flourish iin pinstripes. He's gonna love the new park.

Lets hope that Kevin Long can work with him against LHP.

Like to see his defense on a daily basis before I judge him.

I am rooting for the kid. He seems like someone that is made for NY.

I thought he looked very good against lefties in our first series. He and Kevin Long have done some work and he got a couple of hits off lefties in Boston, one a double.

I think just one hit, but it was v. Lester.

Rich, you are correct. One hit. I can clearly remember Grandy hitting a double off a lefty, but it may have been in Tampa. My bad.

It sounds bad for Garcia.

As they say TINSTAAPP

They need to make him a reliever. At least try and get some value from him — too much talent not to.

Such a shame. That kid has so much promise.
