Baseball America is reporting the the Yanks are linked with the top prospect in this year's IFA class. That is Jasson Dominguez. He's a 5'11" 195 pound explosive swich hitter. That's what Mickey Mantle was. He's supposed to be expensive so the Yanks might have to, once again, trade for more IFA dough - but that has seemed easy. Over the past two years, especially, the Yanks have really cleaned up in IFA, by going after multiple top ten types. If Jassson't money is around 5m, that would represent a different approach, but they've been lucky with that kind of tool box before. So why not?
Unless they sign Bryce Harper, they should be keeping all their picks and IFA pool. Btw, I don;t know why they'd lose IFA money for Harper, but I've seen it mentioned somewhere.

That got me thinking. Some people compare Mike Trout to Mantle. So I checked his height and weight: is 6’2” 235.
Almost certainly this kid referenced above will be a lot bigger than he is now in five years.
Trout's production is similar, but he's not a swtch hitter like the Kid and Mickey.

I would prefer Harper over Machado at this point due to handedness and a general belief that Andujar will improve defensively.
Is it true Dominguez has 60-70 grades across the board? That is absurd.
Hal’s comments make me think they’ll make a splash after all.
I think something's coming, but if it's Machado, then I'm sure they'll trade for another pitcher.
If it is Machado than Andujar should be flipped in a deal for Kluber.
This would give us the best pitching in baseball.

Fleshing that out, the reason I wouldn’t trade Andujar is because he possesses a plus hit tool which is still the rarest thing in baseball. And the Yankees do not necessarily have a first baseman because we don’t know if Voit or Bird are truly going to be above average major league hitters, or perhaps even major league hitters.
The odd man out for me would be Didi. He doesn’t walk, like Andujar, and he’s older and less likely to improve in that area, and he’s going to get more expensive, and he may never be the same defensively after TJ surgery to his throwing arm.
