Giants Tonight

The Giants will play their second pre-season game tonight, this time against the Browns.  The biggest issue with the team, other than the still ignored OL situation, is depth.  When you start looking at it, you realize they needs backs ups everywher or a 4th CB or 4th LB, 4th WR, etc, etc.  So it would be a good time for some of the kids from the past two drafts and draft classes to take those steps and ziplock some postion groups.  The Giants' 1's, other than the OL, should be pretty awesome, but after that, there are a ton a questions.  We don't want to be like the old Manning Colts, that were terrific starters, but absolutely no depth.   One place where we do have great depth is DE, where we might even be able to trade a guy or two during cutdowns.

I just hope Flowers can be passable, as in not too many pass rushers get past him too quickly.

Hoping his plus run blocking gives him confidence and also sets up play-action.

Kind of surprised OBJ was permitted to run the locker room.

Great D, underwhelming O. No running game at all.

I don't know how Reese keeps his job with the OL he keeps putting on the field year after year. Mara imposes even less accountability then Hal. It's good to be an heir.

I love having him on the team. We need more guys like that on offense, and I don't mean with his ability necessarily:

When the Giants kicked-off, following the field goal that capped the fateful drive, Collins gave the Browns’ safety an earful.

"I said he was wrong for what he did," Collins said. "That was about it."

"It's not a penalty, but everybody out here should know that's something that you don't do. If you play safety, you hit properly," Collins said. "That's the last option if you can't make a play on the ball. That's not how you do it. But if you want to get your name known that way, that's how you do it."

After the game, Collins said that he couldn’t play with Boddy-Calhoun after the hit.

"I couldn't have a teammate next to me playing that way," Collins said. "I couldn't condone it. He had all the opportunity in the world to make a different play. He went a different route and I don't condone it."

Goodson looks like a big upgrade.

He looked great.

I've seen too much focus on Flowes. Their inability to run the ball goes way beyond him.

Gallman needs to work on ball security because he may be their most elusive back.

Powe waived injured, as was a few others including Bowie. Replacements signed as well.
