Knicks Retain Clarence Gaines

In a bit of good news the Knicks just announced that Clarence Gaines Jr. will stay on as a scout.  He is the finder of Kristaps and some of the other young guys on the roster.  Earlier they had brought back Zeke's top scout, so they now pretty much have their two best scouts of the past 20 years looking for Knicks.  Not bad.

And they're signing Michael Beasley.

I have liked a lot of the personnel moves so far and that is a good sign. To change a culture you need the right personnel in place to cultivate the same message and work ethic. Hopefully this is the start of moving in the right direction.

Now if only Melo can stop being a you know what and expand his list.

I didn't even bother with the Beasley signing since it's so umimpressive, but it probably does mean Melo will be gone eventually. Lee too, I'd guess.

DWade is very impressed with Tim Hardaway, Jr. He thinks he is a different player with a different body than when he was last in NY.

Whether or not Mills is right about him is going to set the tone and expectations for his tenure. If Tim is really good, it will be easy to believe that the Knicks are headed in the right direction, both for fans and more importantly, big free agents (assuming they ever regain cap room).

If he only wants to go to Houston that's the one place I wouldn't trade him within getting at least three first round picks from them since they are going to be second round picks in actuality.
