The manager blamed Chapman's ineffectiveness on not having pitched since Saturday. That mindset killed Betances when he closed. So incompetent.
T Frazier told Judge not to worry about carrying the team. Just wait for a good pitch or take a walk. Yay.
Hicks needs to play everyday until he plays himself out of a job.
Two things:
1. I'm a punk for quitting early.
2. I believe in Aaron Hicks.
Should also add, on Chapman, he should have been yanked when he gave up back-to-back walks to start the inning. Sometimes they just don't have it, and Girardi has to be able to recognize that.
Aaron Hicks is a Yankee. We didn't like the trade or player last year, but he and Judge brought back grinding this year. He learned the value of the at bat. And we haven't had those of arms in LF and RF since Muesel and Ruth. You cannot run on our corners.
Frazier, Hicks and Judge. That should be the OF going forward.
Great trade by Cashman landing Hicks for Murphy.
It could turn out to be his best deal, especially without the benefit of trading deadline leverage.
