Yanks: Tex Gone for the Year
Mark Teixeira, who was in the midst of a tremendous comeback season, is done for the year with a fractured leg. So, no wonder it didn't seem to be getting better. This is a pretty tough break for the Yanks, and a terrible break for Tex, who, like ARod, plays his ass off whenever he can. People can bitch that these two Yanks have been over compenated, but I've never seen either give less than 100% as I've seen guys making less do over the years. So, here's to health Mark Teixeira in Spring, and it's from Bird to really fly.

As some of us said, their biggest need at the trading deadline was to get a bat that could provide a hedge against any injury/decline of two aging bats having ridiculously unpredictable seasons. (Standing pat was ok too, but they were willing to pay a ton for a reliever who would have made their roster even more unbalanced.)
Although it was impossible to know what might happen, it was easy imagine something negative happening given their age.
Yet the mediots killed them for not trading for pitching.
When I was young, I started my day by reading the sports pages.
Now, I never read any sports "analysis" because virtually every sportswriter is an idiot.
Yup, I remember checking the boxscores to see what Walt, Earl, Dave, and Willis did.
Was only a matter of when, not if. Fortunately, he did provide the team with a very valuable bat while he was healthy.
Like I said before, his propensity to get hurt is why Bird will see at-bats sometime next season.
Now here comes Severino's bad game.
Hung a fucking slider.
What a meltdown.
This is painful
Holy crap. Unreal and why do they try to get a lefty out on an inside pitch...
Anything less than a split in this series, you can forget the division
So do the talking heads start saying they shoulda traded for Price?
Yanks have had a knack for coming back on Friday nights in my lifetime.
i wonder if he hurt himself a bit when he fell off the mound.
Yanks fail to answer.
No McCann's best throw.
Much better second inning.
Sick of watching Yankees whiff on 92mph pitches.
Yanks still no answer and Bird has to start controlling the strikezone again.
Blue Jays grind like the Yanks used to.
Come on, Luis!
What was the fucking defense against Martin? That should have been a DP!
