Rangers: Youth is Mostly Served
The Rangers have made a bunch of moves, and have posted a sort of preliminary roster. The guys who will fit in the open spaces are Miller, Duclair, Hayes, Fast, Malone and Glass. Hunwick is the seventh defender, though he received a bad cut today and is at the hospital.
They're putting Stepan on long term IR, so he has to miss 10 games or 3 weeks, whichever comes first. All the other kids have been sent down. Mueller has been placed on waivers, and they still have to make a trade and it seems like Stempniak will be the one moving.
With today's moves the Rangers have gotten faster, with Duclair and Fast, and bigger with Hayes, Malone and Glass. Hayes was a little up and down, but the did do some really impressive things, and in the sense of readiness, they are taking a bigger risk with him than they are with Duclair. I think Hayes will take another step some time in the early going as he gets used to the speed and his big body. He's got a great pair of hands. So he has a chance to be really good at some point.
Miller and Duclair have been told they must stay in the top nine to stay with the team all year. Obviously, the team is more talented with both of them.
In any event, I really like what the Rangers are doing so far. People will moan and groan about Malone and Glass until someone takes a run at Duclair...

I think is great they are going with youth...It might start a little bumpy but as the year goes a long i feel thing will smooth out..
Yogan, and Kampfer traded to Florida for Joey Crabb making spot for Duke.
They definitely need protectors on the team, including for Nash.
