Giants Pick Up a 7th as McManus Sticks in Denver

Denver just cut Prater, so McManus is sticking and the Giants will get a 7th rounder.  Things seem to be on the upswing again for our boys in blue.  If they can win Sunday and keep getting injured players back, things could get really good again.  Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I would still rather have kept him, but it's the second best outcome.

We have a kicking/punting coach posting on one of the boards and he felt McManus needed another year or two to work on somethings. He was hoping to stash perhaps him.

Thanks but on the other hand Denver is better than the Giants right? So keeping h would have been reasonable especially since Brown has been pretty much a journeyman and is 35.

That said if the offensive line becomes what it is showing signs of becoming and the pass rush is back, then they got the big moves right, and that is what matters most.

McManus isn't a rare commodity. They'll sign another after the season, or maybe even draft one with that extra seventh.

The talent level of kickers is so flat. Brown should be able to kick till McManus 2nd contract, so getting a 7th for McManus now is a good deal. You shouldn't have to spend a pick on a kicker anyway. At this point there's more various in the quality of punters.
