Duclair Scores YET AGAIN in Ranger Loss

Holy Frijoles, this kid is amazing.   The Rangers sent kids and dregs to Philly tonight, and the dregs basically prevented the kids from winning.   That said, the Rangers were down 3-1 in the third when Duclair used his speed to beat his man around the net and pot a perfect pass from Dom Moore.  Moore had earlier assisted on Hagelin's shorty in the first period, when Duclair was in the box for spinning some guy by his shoulders.  Later in the third, Duclair drew a penalty, when they had to hold for fear he's score again.  On the power play that followed, the Philly announcers were catching their breath every time he had the puck.  It was reminiscent of announcers' reactions to Pavel Bure.

The Rangers will be a better, faster, and scarier team this year if Duclair is a member.  He's proven it. Give him a better number.

The kid is electric. I wish Fast McD Hayes and Lindbergh would also make it. But we know too many vets for that..

I worry a little about the kid's size and age. Time and space in regular NHL games is a lot different than most preseason games. He can stick around for a few games without loosing eligibility so I guess its worth giving him a look. But giving his body another year to mature may not be the worst thing in the world. No matter what, he's going to need to keep his head up and on a swivel. I'd hate to see this kid battle concussion and other injury issues because he's not physically ready for the beating he's going to get. He sure as hell is an exciting and dynamic player though. Great speed, hands and feel for the game coupled with burning desire, it's so nice to have one in the system.

All the kids have been fun to watch. I'm really enjoying Hayes especially as well. Also it was good to see my fellow Union College alum Shayne Gostisbehere play the other night even if he's wearing the wrong sweater he looked right at home out there.

I'm also in the camp that he will benefit greatly from another year as a #1 in Juniors. Also, let him gain some weight and add a bit of muscle.

Watching young players develop is what makes spirts fun for me. Watching old veterans decline is what makes me do something else.

Can't teach speed, hands or shot. He said he gained 10 pounds since last year. He's plenty strong for his size, too. Quick twitch. Anyway, as long as he's producing I think we have to keep him.
