Giants Win With Youth
Well, it was a tale of two halves in the Giant game today, as they rallied back from 20-10 to beat the Falcons 30-20. And youth served it up.
The Giant D looked horrible in the first half, as they tried to use their front 4 against 5, 6 or 7 in the Falcons makeshift protection. The O wasn't much better as Randle scored, but also blew a bunch of routes and passes. They went three and out too many times, and were down 13-10 at the half.
To begin the 3rd quarter, they finally sent the house on a third down play, only to allow the Falcons to score on a 74 yard screen play.
Then things changed. The Giants tried a deep pass to Beckham, who had blown by the D, and would have scored if Eli didn't overthrow it. Nevertheless, that play loosened up the Falcon defense and the next time it was tried it drew two penalties.
Jennings, who was playing well again, had to leave the game with an injury and it's unknown what that will mean. But, Andre Williams came in and started trucking folks. He scored a TD to make it 20-17.
That drive energized the D, which then shutdown the Falcon for all intents and purposes there after. JPP was a beast, and young Mr. Hankins had a key sack.
Also, younger Mr. Beckham skied to high point a TD pass, which made it 27-20. Later they took over on downs and got more hard running from Andre Williams before settling for a field goal and a 30-20 final.
We need Jennings back and Beason back, but we started playing like Giants again in the second half, and need to use the kids to keep getting better.

My frustration marked the bottom.
Banks said before the game that this was the ultimate trap game. They escaped the trap in the second half.
This looks like it could be their best draft in many years.
Pugh, Hankins and Moore from last year's draft are also looking pretty great.
True. The potential depth of this draft is what could distinguish it.
Nassib also looks like he could be something from last year's draft, as did Cooper Taylor before we had to IR him.
