Phase II Not Ready Yet
Having rocked the Winter Meetings with the trade for Granderson, the re-signing of Pettitte and the Bruney for Hoffman swap, Cash told reporters the next shoe wasn't ready to fall yet. The Yanks currently have 37 players on their 40 man roster. If they want, that leaves room for a LF, DH, and SP which seem to be the only things they're considering now. It seems likely that if another LF is signed, Melky could find himself traded to the Cubs or another destination. But as of right now, no signings and no trade for Roy Halladay seem imminent. Still, so far, so good.

I have been outspoken for my desire to see Halladay in pinstripes. However, I too want to keep Montero, Hughes, and Joba. So, I could be very happy if Damon would cave and sign a Yankee friendly contract, Matsui stays, and we sign another serviceable starter. We would still have one hell of a team.
John you are not the only one that has expressed the desire of Halladay. I think he will add just as much off the field to help our young pitchers as he will on it. Of course has to be done within reason.
I thought we got awfully good production from our starting pitching this past year. I worry that we will have an injury or AJ or Pettitte will fall off...etc. Halladay would just give us a stud to go with CC and more time for Hughes/Joba to grow.
Please sign Holliday or Bay. The Yankees have got to get younger.

They might not want to add anymore long term deals while they're waiting on some of the kids to get through the system.
I think the non-tenders could offer some bargains.
I agree. Do those come out on the 12th?
I would think so.
excellent.
On Yankees hot stove Kiernan says Cash really wants Halladay.
But not enough to give up Montero.
Or Joba or Hughes?
But who does that leave: McAllister, Romine, Banuelos?...?...?
That's why I was surprised that IPK was dealt.
I think it can be argued that Granderson had more trade value than 1 year of 33 year old NTC Halladay has.
New Post.
