Secondary Targets

While the Blue Jays try to extort too much for 1 season of a 33 year old pitcher, the Yanks are wisely looking into Rich Harden and Ben Sheets. Sheets too a year off to rehab his elbow, and the Yanks have always liked him. Harden has had some shoulder stuff, but is willing to take a one year, incentive laden deal. The Yanks would be in good shape with either of these high risk/high upside power pitchers on a one year deal.

I'm inclined to prefer Harden, subject to medical reports.

Harden's a shoulder, isn't he?

I'd prefer Sheets, although I can understand not wanting to sign a guy who spent a whole year off vs. someone who pitched last season.

Heyman says we are still focused on the primary targets Lackey and Roy... I don't see how we'd get both???
