Day 2
On day 1, the Yanks pulled out of a trade that would have sent Austin Jackson, Phil Coke and Michael Dunn to Detroit and Ian Kennedy to Arizona with the Yanks only getting Curtis Granderson back. Now, while the Yanks like Granderson, they didn't think they were getting enough back for what they were giving up and the trade now seems dead. Yesterday, Cash also said they were after pitching, pitching, pitching and left field. So let's see if there's any progress today. Go Yanks!
UPDATE: According to SI's Jon Heyman, this deal is back alive. I believe if the Tigers and DBacks sweeten the deal for the Yanks something will get done.

I think Detroit will come back to the Yanks on this one, esp if they want the salary moved. Detroit started out high knowing they would not get it. If they started low they would get even less then what they wanted.
Phil if A-Jax goes to Det does this mean Halladay is out of our range? What about getting Edwin Jackson back in this deal?
Sounds like the Yankees have conceded Austin Jackson. I wonder if Toronto would go for a bunch of high-upside guys in the lower levels?

We'll see. Remember Halladay will drive his trade, not the Blue Jays and their rookie GM.
I think AJack and IPK (who they would be selling low on) is too much to give up for a salary dump.
Heyman says done deal
we get Edwin jackson as well
Coke A-Jax IPK gone
You're reading it wrong. We don't get EJackson.
my bad...
sorry about that :_) does this take us out of Halladay?
Either the BJs don't like IPK and AJack, or Cash realizes there is no deal to be made for Halladay, or he is willing to pay more than most of us would consider acceptable.
I think the Yankees will now have no choice but to ink Holliday or Bay. With any legitimate outfield prospects left in the farm system being at least two years away, the Bombers will need someone who can give them guaranteed production beyond two years. I'd be wary of Damon being able to do that.
