Attention Halladay Shoppers

Jon Heyman is now reporting that the Red Sox will not trade Bucholz or Casey Kelly for Roy Halladay. Heyman considers this a market collapse. What's more, the agents for Roy met with the Blue Jays for dinner last night. Could it be the Red Sox have assumed this new posture because Roy's agents let it be known he wants to be a Yankee? We'll see.

Btw, I think there's a chance that if the Yanks got Halladay, Andy Petttitte would announce his retirement. Just a hunch. Go Yanks!

If this is true, the price just dropped considerably

Yup. I think he either won't get traded or will get traded to us.

I prefer the latter, you'd think Toronto would want something rather then him walking for nothing... This makes sense on so many levels for us it would help AJ Joba' and Hughes's growth immeasurably

Any chance Holliday completes the OF?

So what is next?

Pettite?

Matsui at DH?

Jeter
Granderson
Texeira
A-Rod
Matsui
Posada
Cano
Swisher
Cabrera

I don't know what's next. The Yanks have all sorts of plans, and I'm not sure which follows from after the getting Granderson step. I doubt we get Holliday, but still think there's a good chance we get Halladay.

No way the Yankees don't get one of Bay or Holliday. They need guaranteed production from left for more than two years. Damon doesn't provide that.

Bring Halladay to the big city to get his first ring. Do it Cash.

Bay is a bad defensive player. I don't think Cash will ever add one of those again.

I want Holliday more than Halladay. You can sign a pitcher in the next couple years or even this year (Sheets,Duke) if you want one. There won't be anyone that can fill in the OF in the near future from the minors or through FA (just Crawford, but he may sign or get traded).

We'll see what happens, I wouldn't mind if they surprised us with something unexpected and cool.

Someone on ESPN radio said that Holliday's price could drop to $60m. That would be tough to pass up. Davidoff has said the Yankees are his first choice.

I've been saying I thought his price would drop to 60!

Are the RS in on Halladay?

They said today they wouldn't put Bucholz or Kelly in a deal for Halladay, so it doesn't seem like it.

$60 million? Come on, that's way too easy a choice...
