Giants Stuff
Ereck Flowers has returned to the team and if his head is on straight, he can erase the Giants' question mark at RT and keep playing football for a long time. If it's not, he'll get cut and start bouncing from team to team. We'll see what happens.
In other news the Giants cut 6 guys and added 6 more based on this past weekend's mini-camp. The newly signded players are OG Chris Scott (30 year old veteran) CB Chris Lewis-Harris (young vet) OG Malcom Bunche (2017 UCLA), WR Alonzo Russell (2017 Toledo) DB Mike Jones (actual rookie, Temple), and RB Robert Martin (actual rookie Rutgers).
The banished guys are CB Brandon Dixon, OT Adam Bisnowaty, LB Derrick Matthews, CB CJ Goodwin (the long athletic guy) as well as UDFA's TE Stephen Baggett and CB Bryon Fields.
The only surprise here is that Baggett, he of the sub 4.5's didn't show enough to stick. It's also a little odd that they are having 30 year old veterans of at least 14 camps competing against rookies. Not super fair to the kids who were attending their first camps. And I hope the Giants have been fooled by a professional camp attender. I guess I could look at it as Chris Scott just never giving up on his dreams. We'll see.

Maybe another small indication that they are really leveraging the present.
Martin went to Rutgers.

Brandt best offseasons:
1) NY Giants
The addition of experienced head coach Pat Shurmur and general manager Dave Gettleman automatically helped this team. Then, the Giants acquired some much-needed assistance for quarterback Eli Manning and their anemic running game by signing left tackle Nate Solder and drafting running back Saquon Barkley and guard Will Hernandez. Trade acquisition Alec Ogletree, meanwhile, is probably the Giants' best starting linebacker since Antonio Pierce nine years ago. Furthermore, Shurmur and Gettleman have apparently been able to press the right buttons with Odell Beckham and Eli Apple, as both reported for the team's offseason conditioning program despite Beckham's discontent with his contract situation and Apple's tumultuous season ending in a one-game suspension by the team.
