Giants Introduce Shurmur
This morning the Giants introduced Pat Shurmur as their new head coach. This was no surprise, but it was also not like the introductory conference two years ago because the clothes fit the man. There may be some symbolic value in all of that if the outcome varies enough. Also, Shurmur said he knew he was sympatico with Gettelman when Dave said, "It all starts with the Offensive Line." This was music to my ears. He also detailed how they quickly flipped the line in Minny by signing 2 FA's and drafting a C who came in a played like a veteran. He also said he felt lucky to get Betticher and considers him a rising star in the industry. He also intimated that some of his other coaching choices aren't yet available. Solid, solid intro, with the music of dancing elephants once again.

If verb choice matters:
Is Eli Manning ok with the Giants drafting a QB with the No. 2 pick?
John Mara: "He has said that to Dave, yes... He's a professional, he's a competitor. I don't think that's going to faze him in the least."
