Carter DFA'd Again, Choi Called Up
After once again hurting the Yanks chances of winning any time they played him, Chris Carter has been DFA'd, and Ji-Man Choi has been signed from AAA. It's sad that Carter could not get untracked, but he was really given every chance, and too many chances due to Bird's injury, and Girardi's belief in NL Excellence. Choi is a lefty hitter who has been on fire lately, though he too, is not the answer at first and they should probably have Tyler Wade get a 1B glove and take grounders there throughout the All-Star break. They might as well see if Choi can take advantage of the short porch for the balance of this homestand.

DFA Girardi next. He played him.
Oh and again, playing Wade at 1B makes a lot more sense.
Choi is not very good either. Chances are we see someone else by end of month outside of the organization.
If they believe in Bird they can't block hm. This is a multi year plan.
They've got to get Wade ready to do it.

Might be an idea to get Frazier and Hicks in the lineup everyday but I doubt they do it. Judge has some 1B experience.
They have a decision to make. They can trade high on Gardner now. They are never going to be able to trade Ellsbury.
If there's another sell off, they absolutely should trade Gardner. Thanks to the Wild Card lead, I don' think they will.
I imagine at some point they'll just eat Ellsbury's contract, perhaps after next season.
It's so disconcerting that they think Choi or Carter offer more than Wade.
It's similar to what they did with Roberts, Drew, and other not very good anymore veterans.
They may not of had a deep system then: they have it now.
It would be ridiculous to re-sign Pineda after this year, so put him in the pen and see if he can be a reliever, and call up Adams.
Pineda is what he is. At least with Tanaka you know there's good history, and JoMo and Severino are pitching for developmental purposes. Take the same approach with Adams.
It's funny, this is the year they got the big things right, maybe except for Chapman, and the little things wrong, e.g., some of the relievers excess that they let go, marginal roster construction, etc.
Chapman was coming back as long as Randy Levine was team president. And honestly, going forward, I bet Yankee fans are going to hate that contract more than Ellsbury's.
Girardi's misuse has rendered Betances ineffective. Please fire him today.
This really is a test for Cashman. I'm pretty sure he likes Girardi personally, and probably thought that he would leave whenever he thought the time was right, but the facts have changed and it's time to change with them.
Betances is lost right now. Yanks need him and this team goes nowhere without him.
That one is complete on Girardi.
