Yanks Trade Matt Wotherspoon for More IFA Room
The Yanks just did something we've been pulling for them to do since the rules were changed. They trade RHP Matt Wotherspoon for IFA money. This kind of move - as well as trying to acquire competetive balance picks in the draft - is always a great idea. Wotherspoon is pretty good, and, with the way our former relievers are lighting things up elsewhere might have deserved a chance, but he was expendable - especially after we too all of those RHP's in the draft. Strong move. Let's see how they spend it.

Love Matt, Great kid and a real sleeper. The thing is after the season we would most likely lose him for nothing. Love this move1!! We should do the same with players facing MiLB FA and the R5 draft..
Ugh

Tanaka looking like Tanaka.
Tanaka has noticed a little extra on his fastball of late. "Sometimes I look up at the board and I'm surprised myself at the velocity." -- @BryanHoch
Tanaka has looked great as of late and Yankees need him. Now CC is coming back today so that only helps.
CC Sabathia and Adam Warren are being activated from the DL on Tuesday, and Domingo German and Bryan Mitchell are being sent down to Triple-A Scranton.
Good. Now Domingo can actually pitch. Still have no idea what Cessa offers.
His usage pattern highlights Girardi's incompetence and helps explain why the pen has completely collapsed:

Wade wouldn't be better than Carter at 1B?
Who thought CC didn't need a rehab start?
