Yanks Draft Day 2

Today, the Yanks will pick 8 more players, as the draft moves from round three through to round ten.  These are the last of the slotted picks, meaning the last picks that the Yanks have to get in at or under their pool allotment + the allowable 5 per cent.  Every other pick in the draft can be given up to 100K without consequences.

Last year on Day 2, the Yankees sort of went off.  They took prep pitcher Drew Finley,  college OF Jeff Hendrix, FSL All-Star and pitcher of the month, Chance Adams, JuCo slugger Brandon Wagner, developing slugger Jhalan Jackson, prep 3B - now C - Donny Sands and FSL All Star (I think) James Reeves. That was a really nice haul considering they were looking to save money for Kaprielian and Finley.

This year they've got to save money for Rutherford, though how much more is unknown since they already saved some in round two. Last year, they did really well finding gems in the smaller schools and JuCo's. Of course they'll take some seniors, but the Yanks have found intriguing seniors over the last several drafts, so that shouldn't be much of a problem. They're not trying to draft the SI Yankees on Day 2 and Day 3 anymore. They're looking for value.

Let's see what they find.

Yanks are about ten picks away in round 3.
