It's Melo-Time

The Knicks are apparently closing out their deal for Carmelo Anthony. He is unquestionably the best player the Knicks have traded for since Bernard King and he ought to do a lot of the same things. What remains to be seen is the price and the rest of the pieces they took back. Go Knicks!

UPDATE: The Knicks get Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Renaldo Balkman! and Anthony Carter.

The Knicks give up, Eddy Curry, Felton, Gallo, Chandler, Mozgov, their 2014 1, and 2 of their extra 2's from the Warriors plus 3 Million bucks.

To me, losing Gallo and Moz hurts a bit, but I like Balkman as an off the bench defensive irritant, and it seems we are keeping Anthony Randolph, thus we can use him in another deal. We can and should always buy more second round picks. Good deal.

Further Update: The Knicks also got Corey Brewer from Minny for Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph. He could combine with Balkman to give us a second unit that is fun to watch in transition.

I'm hoping for a downside surprise in the price.

Eh, I feel sorry for losing Gallo, but everybody else was sort of fungible, and I'd love to see our scouts solve the problem.

Looks like we might have kept Randolph.

I'm concerned about a loss of size.

Randolph would help, but they need a less stubborn coach to play him.

did we keep Curry's expiring also?

Apparently Curry and Randolph could be going to Minnesota, but the Knicks might get the take back.

Beck:

The Knicks have not yet decided whether to keep Brewer or flip him in another deal. They have several other trade possibilities in the works as they approach the N.B.A.’s Thursday trading deadline.

I want to see what else we can do.

OK, I like the trade.

I love Walsh.

I don't like D'Antoni.

Let's see how flexible he can be.

If he can't, it's time to get a coach that isn't so freakin' stubborn.

We're apparently trying to get Camby back!

Camby would be the perfect fit IMO.. I remember his coming out party vs Indiana and Atlanta in 99 which was awesome
