Looks Like Morris
Apparently the Rangers are closing in on a Prucha centered deal for Derek Morris. We'll let you know what the other stuff is as we find out.
UPDATE: Now we're hearing Prucha may not be in the Morris deal!

We'll see. I don't think I can understand why they'd trade Prucha for Morris.
I am in the same boat as you. Why?? Seabrook would be much more acceptable in my opinion. My only explanation is there is more to be announced. As far as I am concerned Morris is at the low end of top 4 D-Men. I think there is more to this..
The fact that it's taking so long leads me to believe there are more moves. I hope it makes sense when they are done.
I do to. I think Prucha for Morris on the surface is a gross mismanagement of assets. Something really really good needs to be on the other end of this. Morris is over 30, bad back, and has not lived up to the expectation. Maybe five years ago I would be happy with this but not now. I am curious to see what Slats has in store.
My guy told me don't be shocked to see Avery traded.
Anything new from Rangerland? Has Dan heard the same things you have Phil?
Kalel have you heard anything about Hossa? I'm thinking if prucha gets traded he would up staying.
All I had heard was that they were gonna re-sign Hossa then throw him in a trade. They apparently have a very complex offseason/cap management plan.
I heard the same thing. Hossa is likely gone. If the arbitrator gives him an award higher then a mill NYR will decline setting him free.

It's Saturday and they bought themselves time by filing for arb with Lundy. I think they're all still there.
That is excellent news. I really feel once Lundy gets done and I think he will shortly. It will be for the number close to what Dan has said that will free us up for other things b/c Lundy is being a team player.
Then we will see the other moves follow rather quickly. I applaud the effort from Slats and co now let's see the results.

I am looking forward to it. Only thing I can add so far is that my source told me there is a lot of rumors being spread on purpose in regards to Souray to drive up his price, but he maintains he will be NYR.

There is a rumor out there that Francois Gagnon from Montreal station TQS says Souray signed with the Rangers. Not sure how legit it is or even if this guy works there.

Weinman says nothing more today, and that he does not see Souray, but wont be convinced until he signs elsewhere. Pretty much says everything else we knew here already.
Eklund reported Devils signed Vishnevski. I'd assume this takes them out of the mix, and that McCabe could go to NYI possibly for Hunter.

Not especially. We've been focused pretty exclusively on the Rangers since we found out they got called back into the offices at 4am on Friday morning we're expecting a defensive upgrade any minute now.

Really?? I would be very impressed if they somehow got him. This is the kind of thinking I like hearing about. This only tells me even more that Souray is in the fold if we get Smid or someone like him.

I like the Smid scoop. I would not complain if we got him. Adding him to the core would be a coup in my mind. I hope tomorrow brings us what we have been waiting for.
Heres the Deal...As phil already knows they are spending about 85 % of the time on Henrik and 15 on Defense Help...once they get Henrik done they will then focus on Defense...They want henrik done soon
I think they are just doing the hardware incentives for Hank, but other than that it's done. They are gonna have to get a D guy, but also dump some salary somewhere.
I agree with you Phil that Henrik is done. I still will stick by source Souray and something else.
Henrik is being a true team player with his one year deal. Now I expect the other moves to fall into place. I am still confident about Souray and another piece coming.
