What Now?
Hearing some stuff, but first, let me say, getting Hank re-upped is job 1,2,3,4, and 5 right now. So what am I hearing? I'm hearing that Souray has a deal with the Rangers that hasn't been signed yet. I've heard that the Rangers were working through the night last night to get a trade or trades done. I don't know any trade details, but I do know people were getting called back to the office in the wee hours of the morning. One thing I think we might guess is that Prucha is on the move and that's why his deal was locked in first. Unless we get a great return, I hope that is not the case, but we'll see. There are also rumblings that Avery's agent may have alienated the FO. We'll need to keep a close eye on that, too. I hope we have some NEWS for you today.

Things are getting exciting over at MSG. I really think Hank gets done in the next 3 hours just my opinion. There is too much at stake for both sides here. Hank wants to get paid, and the Rangers want to pay him and move on to other business. They will settle. In the end what these other moves are will only help Hank, and I think he knows that and will sign soon.
My source is telling me Hank is a done deal 5.5 per season.

maybe he decided he wanted to help the cap, like Shanny's been willing to do.
I think that is what maybe the case he wants to help us get better as a team. I wonder now if we will see the other pieces fall into place.
Who knows. There are more Souray to the Devils rumors now.
Site nhlline.ca has Souray going there but that site has no credibility. I don't see Souray and the Devils as a fit who knows...
I've heard we have an unsigned deal with Souray, and I still think that's the case.

NHLPA had posted earlier Dan 4.75 as his salary and taken it down. If it is 4.75 then even better!!!

Arbitration Ensures Lundqvist Will Stay a Ranger
Spooked by the $50-million, seven-year offer sheet to which the Edmonton Oilers signed restricted Buffalo free agent Tomas Vanek, the Rangers elected this afternoon to take Henrik Lundqvist to salary arbitration.
While Glen Sather continues to try to hammer out a long-term deal for Lundqvist with agent Don Meehan, this move ensures that Lundqvist at least will be a Ranger for next season. And it precludes any rival from making an offer sheet that would crush the Rangers cap-wise.

Deal is still done, I was told this was a procedural thing to prevent some other team from making an offer to crush the cap. Still finalizing the details I was told.

If they did not file, they could have gotten some ridiculous offer which would have ruined the cap and rest of the plans. Slats is still working on the final details was the last msg I rec'd.
