Hip, Hip, Souray?
Blog regular Dan has heard what we've been hearing for three days. Slapshotting, scoring Habs defenseman Seldon Souray appears to be a Ranger. This only makes sense for those concerned here if Malik is headed elsehwere, and we believe that to be the plan.

im hearing that the contract is 4-5 years at 5.75-6 mill a year but i could be wrong

Folks, just got in. Sorry for the delay. The Rangers are not signing Sheldon Souray. At least not tonight, and probably not ever.

Good Morning. Thank you for your concern. Thankfully all is well. There was a scare which turned out to be a false alarm. It threw me. All is well now :) Just makes you count your blessings.
Last night I had rec'd a text msg about Souray saying he was NYR with not much detail. I hope today to get some more.
BTW I agree with your above post needing to dump salary for role players and prospects. Reminds me of when we got Matteau and company for our cup run. Solid role players and contributors.

I don't see him coming to LA and being on the #2 team in the area. There's basically no way he leaves the Rangers and his agent and Sather can work out something that makes sense for both sides. Shanny's been turning down offers left and right.

Lundy is psyched we got Drury AND Gomez. So's Shanny.
Larry Brooks said there are many options to keep Lundy. He stated next year that we would have more cap room if we just signed him to a 1 yr deal. Bottom line is he is going nowhere and neither is Shanny. Guys like Hossa/Malik/Mara/Cullen should not get too comfy.

Shanny is a class act all the way. With he and Drury in the locker-room there will be plenty of leadership.

Latest I heard was 5 year deal for Souray. No dollars yet. While I was opposed to this earlier I am changing my mind, and do hope this becomes reality.
The Pierre McGuire interview is now on WFAN.
I think it will be announced after Lundqvist and Shanny etc.
I think it makes sense they want to get in house matters taken care of first.

He mentioned that we do have somethings cooking trade wise. Alot of it depends Souray if we can finalize the numbers. He said we agreed on years. Souray wants to be here but is over-estimating his value, and we are trying to get him to come back a bit. Said Malik and Cullen possibly Hossa would be likely to be moved.
I heard Hossa might be signed just to be thrown into a trade.
We heard the same thing as he mentioned Slats does not think he fits.

quick note, it seems like Rangers are about to sign Forsberg, stay tuned. I will have a full report in a short while

This is actually me, and unfortunetly i am telling you the truth. But the rangers are trying to lock up Forsberg to a 1 year deal, but the senetors are really being persistent. So its either Rangers or Senetors. Ill investigate.
