Finally! This move should have been made already, but it's not too late to get his Bugs Bunny change-up baffling the A.L.. Now all we need is Britton and our bridge to Mo should work fine!
I agree on Myers as well. It is well known on this blog my disdain for he and Villone. Are you kidding me Proctor? If this continues we may have to forget about this season.
Did you get to watch it? He was able to change shapes and speeds with it like Hughes can. He used to remind me a lot of Kevin Brown when he was at Florida, but now he reminds me more of Phil Hughes, and that just might be the way Nardi wants his power pitchers looking and working. He was really impressive.
I watched the first couple of innings, and wasn't sure what to think of his control. It seems like he can throw the fastball or curve for a strike more often than not, but not much else. I'd imagine that with a mid-90s fastball, that's enough to be a ML #3, at worst.
His slider was inconsistent tonight and he threw some good changes. If he's a "3" it's only gonna be because Hughes and Joba are in the rotation at 1 and 2. After his D cost him a run, he got the final out of the inning by blowing 3 fastballs by the final hitter, they must have been 97 cause they just explode on the poor bastard.
As for Horne, he had some wicked, nasty movement on his pitches. I was not a Horne fan before thinking he was just another 24 year old former college pitcher and just trying to hang on.
Boy was I wrong.
Now I want to see Kennedy, Chamberlain and Smith!!

FINALLY!!!! Any word on whom was sent down or let go?
Don't know yet. This comes from a friend of KRam's.
This is excellent news. We can hope Villone was designated for assignment.
or Myers who never gets it done against lefties anymore. Also, they might have put Proctor on psych leave for lighting a fire in the dugout today.

yeah, apparently he lit a fire in the dugout.

Is Horne's curve a plus pitch?
oh yeah, though he hung one and failed to snap one or two. It's an explosive pitch and he can 11-6 it in on a lefty hitter. He's got filthy stuff.
I'll say. It was impressive.

Looks like it is Basaak that will be sent down.
