This gives us more flexibility then originally thought. I see Slats being very active this weekend.

I have heard that we may make a run at Souray, but I am having a hard time thinking he wants to come here based on his personal life.
I'm not crazy about Souray.
I think he is too one dimensional. Granted its the one dimension we need a powerplay point shot.. I think he is a liability on D.
I think this news puts us in an even better position to try and land both Drury and Gomez
So do I. I'd do that, then investigate the trade market.
Someone like Zidlicky or Weber would work with the Preds in sell mode. I do think we will explore the trade market for D, as the FA's are not overly impressive.
I am taking a cautiously optimistic approach to this weekend. Phil have you or Dan heard anything new on NYR front?
There's a rumor that we're sending Montoya to Phoenix for Jovo.
Jovo if healthy would be the perfect answer. His contract and injury issues worry me. I would really investigate that if I was Slats. I would want more from Phoenix as insurance. The contract and injury worries scare me a little..

Likely signings. "Officially" it opens at noon tomorrow, but things may get out early. TSN is running a special tomorrow to cover it.

thats the only team Rangers are afraid of..the rangers will go 7 a year, but LA might go 8-8.5
Makes no sense for LA, they are rebuilding. They are not close to winning anything. I'd like to think a mill or so less, chance to win, and Shanny will win us Gomez's services.
Kings might have a better match with Drury.

Yes as a back-up to Souray. I still have no idea why they even want him. I hope this report I got was un-true. I think our best bet is to go hard for Drury/Gomez and trade for D.

Baranka if he can stay healthy is going to be a good one. Staal and Sauer also. Not too sure on Sanguinetti yet. Isn't it nice though to once be able to talk about prospects in abundance with potential to make our team and contribute?
Last thing I heard its down to NYR/LA for Gomez. It all depends on if they get Briere and or Drury. I know we are going to make a big offer to him.

That's what I thought. That Swedish report was right, not wrong, they didn't want to effect the market with an announcement or have other teams go after their main target when they'd rather have them thinking they could get Nylander.
im pretty sure its not as much as the sweedish were reporting(contract number wise)

I agree with Phil Dan, no need to subject yourself to getting beaten up. I still am hearing we are a player for Souray as well. Not sure if you have heard that. Preising is also on the radar. Souray is gonna depend on how much Gomez costs. I don't like it myself but I see why they are addressing the D.
