Yanks Take CF Jake Sanford in 3

Here we go, Jake Sanford is a twitchy, power hitting RF from Western Kentucky.  He's from Nova Scotia and had a hard time getting noticed.  No baseball offers and one Volleyball offer.  Needless to say, he walked on and tore up JuCo, then WK. Frankly, I think they can save some money their, but this guy is really intriguing.

I don’t want to give them to give more than one year either, but I’d rather give him more than one year instead of trading. prospects. I fear they are blind to Gardner’s decline and again Cashman does not make good trades for top starting pitchers. If he did, they wouldn’t have been out executed by the Red Sox for the last 15 years.

NYP
TORONTO — If Dallas Keuchel wants to be a Yankee the left-handed starter will likely have to sign a one-year deal for a pro-rated qualifying offer that was $17.9 million.

As of now the Yankees’ preference is to keep the offer to a one-year pact, covering the rest of the 2019 season. Keuchel, 31, previously rejected that offer from the Astros and became a free agent in a market that was slow moving and top heavy with Manny Machado (10 years; $300 million) and Bryce Harper (13 years; $330 million) landing mega-deals.
