Yankee Draft Day
Here we go. The MLB draft starts tonight, and the Yanks will, eventually, pick 3 new players. Their picks are 30, 38 and 67, so it's going to be a long night for us. The rumblings about prep pitching being a relative strength of this draft haven't abated. And my own animus against it was slightly assuaged by Nolan Martinez's big start yesterday. His best as a pro. So maybe the "luck" is changing - or maybe something else is. I won't be surprised if the Yanks go two bats and a prep pitcher tonight, As for the bats, I'm guessing one prep and one JuCo or Collegian. That's what they did last year, that was made possible by having the 21st pick and it's decent slot amount. The 30 pick isn't worth as much, so we'll see what they do. With 4 picks in the first 105, the Yanks might be able really top load it.

Rich, RE: your last reply in the previous thread... I agree. Frazier made a mistake not talking to the media and being open and honest about his fielding miscue. I'm glad Voit had his back publicly, but privately I hope it's being made clear that dodging the media is unacceptable.
Yep, and Hicks toi.
I know there's a lot of Boone haters in here (admittedly, I didn't hate or love him) but let's take a moment to appreciate what he's done with this group and how well he's deployed the bullpen over the past 2 months. I'd easily say he's growing as a manager and has been learning from his prior mistakes.
I like him more than Shurmur!
Getting close!
Florial 2-2 with a 3 run jack so far in his return.
Getting closer!
There goes Toglia.
There goes Jensen,
2 picks away...
A's waiting forever to pick before us.
Yanks are on the clock!
