Rangers Tomorrow
Okay, with NBA free agency already all over but the shouting, let’s remember that NHL Free Agency starts tomorrow, probably at noon or some other business hour. Believe it or not, the Rangers, like the Knicks, don’t have an open window yet. And although they control much more talent than the Knicks can by league design, all of it is really young, so no big stars need to be added. Artemi Panarin may be as possibility, but he’s just an opportunity, not a need. So if they don’t get him, they can go bargain hunting, and maybe even produce an offer sheet for one of the 21 year old C’s or for a cheaper RFA like Gusev, who won’t cost 4 1’s. They might also look to add even more talent or picks by trading Kreider, Vesey and Namestikov. And they still need o dump some D, because Fox, Libor and Rykov, at least, all seem ready or about to be. Let’s hope they stay smart.
