Yanks Trade Caleb Frare of 1.5M in IFA Dough

Yanks just traded talented but oft injured Caleb Frare to the White Sox for 1.5M in IFA pool money. So that's more than what they've promised Osiel Rodriguez, and combined with whatever they got last night, means they have other targets. This is the fun stuff. Best of luck to Caleb, who will pitch in the majors if his body cooperates.

Curry: With the Shreve/Gallegos for Voit deal with Cardinals and Frare deal with the White Sox, Yankees have added $2.5M in international signing bonus pool money in the last 13 hours. Stay tuned for what's next. @JesseSanchezMLB predicted a signing of Cuban pitcher Osiel Rodriguez

Their promise to Osiel is just 1M.

Phil retweeted this, but here it is from Jesse Sanchez: “Source: @Yankees expected to use international pool money acquired in trades to sign RHP Osiel Rodríguez, #9 on @MLBPipeline Int’l Prospects list, for $600K and SS Carlos Verdecia for $325K. They could still be in play for RHP Sandy Gaston, ranked No. 14.“

Mesa can get too much money elsewhere, right?

Happ is ok v. a bad team and his PC is high but they need a win so badly.

That’s why Sevy’s outing is so concerning. The Royals are awful.

Happ contributes a quality start and those are our biggest win determinents.

Better-ish situational hitting today. And good start by Happ, obviously.

Good debut for Happ.

So HAPPy for him.

Robertson and Green were in dispensable in last year‘s playoffs; this year not so much.

Robertson reportedly doesn’t have the fastball velocity he used to. What’s Green’s issue?

They are in a new situation. They were very good v. good teams and mediocre v. bad teams. Beating a bad KC team in this series was a start to rectifying that anomaly, and undermanned it’s a opportunity, since they play mostly mediocre teams for the next several weeks except for the RS.

But I am definitely looking forward to Happ pitching against them.

Now we know why they couldn’t he IFA money from the O’s:

Braves sent $250K in international slot money to Orioles for Brach. Same price they paid to get Jonny Venters from the Rays.
