Yanks Add Zach Britton
This happened sort of abruptly Tuesday. The Yanks ended up getting Zach Britton, an historically significant reliever for Dillon Tate, Josh Rogers and Cody Carroll. I was hoping they'd get more international room, but they still have time to do that. This trade doesn't bother me because all of the prospects are at least 24. While I think each of them will make it to the majors -- maybe even this year, we didn't give up anything we only had one of, which we sort of did when we threw Solak into the Drury trade. Actually, it would have been nice to keep both of those prospects.
Britton gives the Yanks another elite arm to shorten games. He'll be even more valuable in the playoffs and especially so, if we have to play a play-in game again.
The deadline is 6 days away, now. What I absolutely don't want to see is the Yanks trading anyone from the 17/18 IFA class, because I think there are future star Yankees there. So, when they do make the inevitable trade for a starter, let's hope they stick with the older prospects. Some of the younger guys seem Gleyber-ee. And we get him back tomorrow, or today, if you're reading this on the East coast.

I expected this type of trade, and Tate could come back to bite them, but at least they got quality. I don’t see that in the market for SP at a reasonable price.
Could there now be a trade no one is reporting about in which they trade a top reliever for a quality SP? That would be better than trading top prospects.
Would have liked to get back some IFA money.
Eovaldi to the Sawx.
No IFA money probably reflects the O’s leverage.
Sanchez out a month. Need to upgrade at the catcher position if there is room in the budget.
The budget is secondary to what they have to give up.
Yet some fans and a jack lass like Farce-ssa thinks he was faking it And the Yankees covering it up
Fuck Beale out for the year
WOW how fast was that...He had shoulder issue Uggg
Why upgrade to what yf . I think we are fine..

Cessa still pitched well.
The problem is their offense. They’re all the same type of hitters:: low average, too HR conscious all the time, too concerned with the launch angle.
Just as it was against Houston last year, this is their Achilles’ heel.
Oh and they must realize it because they went after Machado.
@williamnyy23
In July alone, Boone has allowed a starter to begin an inning under questionable circumstances, only to lift him after a lead was blown or deficit lengthened: 7/9, 7/10, 7/13, 7/20, 7/23, 7/25. That's 30% of games this month.
He sucks
Yanks will miss his potential bat eventhough he is having a bad year. A month of games in August could be costly to the offense IMO.
If the Yankees had a good pitching coach it wouldn’t matter that Boone is asleep at the wheel, so either Rothschild has him given bad advice, he is ignorant good advice or they’re both clueless.
They are better than the way they are playing and Boone is subtracting from their talent not adding to it.
I would love to know what defines "questionable circumstances". Boone is fine and it's easy to question moves in hindsight. Regardless, he's the anti-girardi and is not managing every regular season game as if its game 7 of the WS. It won't be noticed now but come end of august & middle of September, our relievers won't be running on fumes.
The Yanks are also a top 10 avg team and quite frankly, HRs are great. While they are leading the league in HR, they aren't overly reliant on them and manufacture runs in other ways as well as witnessed by their league leading SF.
For whatever reason, they don't play well at the Trop - shrug and move on.
You like that he didn’t pitch around Machado?
You liked that he bunted the Didi the other night causing a foreseeable IBB of Stanton who was 4-4?
Houston and Boston have been number one and two in AVG, the Yankees are 10 or so; that’s quite a distance.
“ Heavy in the mix” for Happ. I’m not sure what problem he fixes, unless becomes an Aaron Small clone, which is a hope not a plan.
I prefer Sheffield
New Happ Watch post.
I mean there's no way any of us know whether or not they were instructed to pitch around Machado and simply made a bad pitch.
Didi situation played out exactly as expected except Hicks didn't get the job done and neither did Gary. Giving yourself bases loaded with 1 out versus a guy who is having issues throwing strikes with 5-6 hitters coming up is the more probable play.
You let Didi hit and worst case, he hits into DP. If he just makes an out and advances the runners, Stanton is walked. If runners don't advance, they bring in a RHP to face Stanton.
We can sit here and criticize this decision from our couches but there was sound logic behind the choice that was made. If Hicks gets a base hit, no one is second guessing it. Same for Sanchez.
Regardless, it's one choice of many and we tend to harp on the wrong ones without ever giving credit for the good ones because they are magnified by the loss.
He said that he bunted Didi because he wasn’t good against the left-hander. If that’s the case there’s no reason for him to bat that high as Mike hsd said repeatedly.
