Knicks Stuff
Okay, the draft is now three weeks away, and the workouts are getting more serious. Earlier this week they worked out Tyus Battle, from Syracuse and he decided to go back to school. Correlation? Anyway, now they're going to workout Trae Young, who wasn't sure he would workout for them at the Combine. Bot Young, who might be Steph 2 in the proper scheme, and Colin Sexton, who might be Westbrook 2, demand careful consideration from the Knicks. Yes, they need wings, but they cannot pass on possible superstars. So they have to know about Young and Sexton before they make their pick.
In other Knick news, Ron Baker picked up him player option. The horrible Baker deal sort of exemplifies Jackson's greatest flaw (pre-draft night, last year) and that's that he was willing to overpay for physical presence. Physical presence is great when it's gor real talent, like Willis Reed, Mark Messier or Mark Bavaro, but not so great when that's a player's only dimension. In the horrible Baker and Noah deals, Jackson wasted significant cap on physical presence who offered no other value, and at the cost of other talent.
UPDATE: Though Jackson praised Baker to the rafters, it turns out Mills was the one who gave Baker the deal. Same sin and possibly more troubling since Mills is still here.

No sport demands picking the BPA more than the NBA given the outsize influence of so few players.
No league punishes your misses as much as the NBA.
Sadly, the Baker deal was given by Mills. Luckily, it was before he hired a GM.
Idk if this is feasible but I would love to trade 9 for LAC 12/13...
I'm a big Zhaire Smith guy
I think the Baker contract was a gift to Hornacek.
