More Yankee Draft Stuff
As the top 3 in the Yankee batting order tonight are all Yankee Draft Picks, it's crucial to once again remind everyone just how important these 3 days in June have become the the organization. Gardy's on his second deal, but Judge and Bird are still saving the Yanks millions and have paid for their entire draft classes already. It's incredible that such a startingly efficient market still exists. Of course, you could say going 1 for 40 is not effiicient, finding a Free Agent starter for the Yanks always costs more.
Anyway, this year the Yanks have a smaller pool and might want to stretch it out by saving money on their first round pick, who could be an injured guy or someone from a smaller school. I think they'd only change this tack if someone like Triston Cassas or some other huge ceilinged Prep falls to them at 23, at that point I think they could even switch to a first round overpay and look to really save on picks 2-10. So depending on how things fall Monday, we should be able to tell what Tuesday will look like.

Your comments about the saving produced by Judge and Bird really elucidate how draft choices aren’t lottery picks, they are the product of probabilistic assessments. Some teams do it well, some teams don’t. The Yankees have switched from being the latter to being the former.
The next step is getting more at the major league level from multiple starting pitching prospects. That’s far more important than any trade that a sports radio caller (or mediot) can come up with.
Homeplate ump just fucked Bird. I hope I live to see the robots.
I think the pool system has actually helped the Yankees. Because they no longer have to go back to draft indifferent ownership with each kid's price and the response sometimes being determined by the previous year's results. The new system let's ownership know upfront what the costs are gonna be and thus they aren't debating in August anymore.
This homeplate ump loves him some Charlie Morton.
Need a bat.
Warning track power
Why does Holder only pitch one inning at a time?
Now let's win this. Morton must be out, and his bf behind the plate could now resent the Astros.
If we lose it's because Sanchez and Stanton have synchronized their slumps.
Andujar just got his 3rd walk in the past few days...
GARDY GOES YARDY!!!!!!!!
Judge oppo double! Now it's up to the BIRD MAN!
Down to Stanton...
Corners for the Sanchino...
Extras...
WALK OFF HIT FOR THE GLEYBER OF LOVE!!!!
Young guys carrying this team. Don’t trade young guys.
I think German and Sheffield can save the rotation.
And Frazier can make the lineup more circular.
I love the fight in this team. I also love Gleyber Torres in a platonic manner.
I just wish Frazier could play CF and wasn't so scatter armed on D.
Stanton and Sanchez are due huge corrections.
Holder is an under the radar story.
Yanks need to add 2 SP by the deadline. Maybe a BP piece as well if guys like Betances and Robertson cant be counted on.
Ban trades.
Between German, Sheffield and Cody, we have it covered in the system.
