CC Deals

CC Sabathia threw 7 innings of 1 run ball.  Bird homered twice.  Judge homered. Andujar was 3-4 with a homer, and Gleyber lead off the second inning with his first career triple and started the scoring.  Yanks roll 8-1.

Some dopey comments on the prior thread.

The should not F this up by making another Gray crap trade.

We're all trying to avoid that. But the system is a little overcrowded andif a ninja deal can be made, I'd prefer that to lopping the top off the farm like we kind of did last year.

Sometimes I wonder if this team plays up or down to its level of competition.

If Frazier survived the deadline here’s the lineup I want:
2B Torres
RF Judge
1B Bird
DH/LF Stanton
SS Didi
C Sanchez
3B Andujar
LF/DH Frazier
CF Hicks/Gardner

That, of course, assumes Bird and Sanchez are hitting like they’re capabale of by then. Whoever plays center mostly depends on if they’re facing a righty or lefty.

Hope they don't trade Andujar in a deal for Degrom if the Mets are open to trading him to the Yankees.

Phil

What’s an example of an acceptable deal for a picher worth acquiring?

They have lost in the playoffs over the last five or so years because they don’t hit with RISP, not their pitching. I think the whole pitching thing is a myth, unless you have a ninja/cheating pitching coach who can transform guys and the Yankees don’t.

So to me playing Frazier has the chance to impact the team more than any acquisition.

Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don’t make.

I don't want them to make a trade, I just expect they will because they've been talking about it since they got Stanton. I don't know who the pitcher is, but, they have enough duplicative prospects to make a nice offer without huring the dawning dynasty, so hopefully, it's not anythibg painful.
