Most of these guys are former draft picks or prospects the Rangers picked up in the Big Sell Off. Like every year there are a few tryout players, a couple from big time NCAA programs. They are Mason Bergh, who is from Colorado College. Drew Melanson from Boston University - at least one of Quinn's former charges came with. Josh Melnick is from Miami of Ohio. Brogan Rafferty is from Qunnipiac (which is a great program) and Josh Teves is from Princeton.
Unusually or, perhaps, revolutionary, only one tryout is coming from for the OHL, that's Kevin Hancock, from the Owen Sound Attack. The Rangers used to typically bring in more major junior kids and would sometimes end up singing them
Missing in action are 2016 pick Tarmo Reunanen, the skills Finish D they drafted 2 years ago, and F Robin Kovacs from the 2015 draft who left last year, and I guess is never coming back.
I wonder if the new draft picks will skate circles around them. Also, I wonder who's running it, since the assistant coaches haven't been hired yet. Maybe Quinn and Schoeny.

Alot of D-men, think that has been a priority in the rebuild.
Qiuinn's system demands puck carries and guys who can jump in on D, but also being great on D.
