Yanks Make Boone Official

So they finally acknowledged Boone as their pick on a 3 year deal with the club option for year 4.  They also lost AAA Manager Al Pedrique to the A's.  Have to think Al was either offended not to be interviewed for the Big Job or saw no place for himself on Boone's staff, which we have to assume is coming together.  They'll introduce him Wednesday.

People have made some noise about Boone's sense of humor, but they don't remember or never knew that Casey was considered an absolute clown when he was hired.

I read somewhere that he had gained weight and lost athleticism this past season. Probably not what the Yanks are looking for.

Wouldn't surprise me if we did, but we also have some others who were put on hold during the Ohtani pursuit.

Cole screwed the Yanks over when they drafted him. Also, I don't want to lock up any more Sonny Grays while we have so much on the way.

They probably can’t sign CC if they make the trade. It’s not that big a deal to me compared to getting a young star.

Another possibility is that they could pair some of their added international signing money with a Castro or a Headley in a salary dump Until Nohtani signs a few teams may really want that.

They will have to be creative with any deal if there goal is, as it should be, to get below the tax.
