Cashman Will Choose From the 6

Brian Cashman has told reporters that he will make his managerial recommendation to ownership based on the six interviews they have already conducted.  That he hasn't already done it suggests to me that perhaps he's interested in pulling more than one guy from the group for bench coach or other jobs in the organzation. Maybe we'll hear something today.

It isn’t Thomson, who was hired as the Phillies’ bench coach. I’m guessing the Yankees informed him he wasn’t a finalist, hence the decision to accept the position with Philadelphia.

I'm hoping Bam Bam. I have a feeling the delay might be them trying to get both. And I think Beltran will end up in the front office.

Wally Matthews thinks BamBam is the better choice due to him being able to have conversations in Spanish and Japanese. Also said he’s considered a “very smart baseball man.”

Yes, Beltran is expected to be a part of the organization in some capacity.
