Yanks Trade for 1B Garrrett Cooper

Yanks just traded Tyler Webb for 26 year old AAA 1B Garrett Cooper.  Cooper was a 6th round pick out of Auburn in 2013.  He is currently OPS'ing 1.080 at AAA and hits right.  This could be a platoon partner for Choi or insurance for Bird.

I don't mind it. I liked Tyler Webb and felt he was one of our better relievers. Having said that, I wasn't interested in trading for a Major League 1B.

Better than giving up much better prospects for a guy like Justin Bour I guess. Typical lower key trade by Cashman, not going to give up the farm hopefully.

I think it almost guarantees that they're going to trade for a significant reliever

Potentially, but think about how many more chances Clippard gets to suck than Heller. I don't see any reason why that's going to change in present. All the more reason I think the manager has to go, but won't
