Scott Perry is Official: 5 Year Deal

So the Knicks did end up giving one of their multiple 2's in 2019 as welll as cash. Seems like there were no picks involved at all until NBA sources started tweeting about the highway robbery the Knicks had performed, then, last night it was said the compensation was still being negotiated.  Apparently, the Kings decided they needed a pick on top of cash. Sounds like a bait and switch, but what's done is done and the Knicks now have a supremely qualified GM for the next 5 years.

In researching Perry, it's kind of surprising he hasn't been a GM already.  In fact the Kings had hried him to run their basketball operations, but he was a VP and not GM. Weird, but that might be why he was so eager to jump to the Knicks where he finally is a VP.  Let's hope he crushes it.

That he was leaving SAC after such a short time suggested a problem or true compensation.

GM is a promotion. And it's a way better job, even with the crazy owner.

So, we being the worst franchise in the league, making bad deals in every deal, get a good deal and the league was up in arms that we didn't surrender a draft pick?

Can the Knicks scream when they think a rival may be getting over in a deal?

It is a little silly that they had to give up a 2 since you can buy 2's and they already had their check book open. Now I guess the Knicks can buy another 2 if they see something they like.

I don't care about the 2. I care about what Perry really thinks about Frank N. and the two recent signings.

I bet he loves Frank N as most of the serious talent evaluators did.

Berman thinks the Knicks fell apart when Grunwald was fired. The timing was curious and who knows what precipitated it, but he did trade an unprotected 1 for Bargniani (sp?) so thafs kind of a bizarre take.

So happy Rondo signed else where. Nothing more then a tire patch that we all know won't end well!!

Berman also sort of blasts Mills for being into metrics...

They said all the right things. Now they need to execute.
