This Week on the Blog
Okay, the Yanks are just finishing up a total beatdown of the Orioles. One that saw their blossoming ACE, Luis Severino, pitch 7 innings of 2hit, 2BB, 8K 1 run ball. While he was doing that, Judge and Sanchez both homered, singled, doubled and walked. Holliday also had 3 hits and a homer, and Didi and Castro also homered as the final was 16-3. And we're not sure who is pitching tomorrow. Let's take a look at the coming week.
Yanks: Yanks should pitch German tomorrow, but they might pitch Green. Then Monday, they start their draft and that's usually the biggest traffic week of the year around here. I'll be at the game Monday, but will probably post as soon as I get home. Actually, it's starting at 3 pm my time, so I should still be here for our first pick and might even make it to our second before I leave. That's great to find out. Then Tuesday and Wednesday will be normal. Cool. Alright so let's talk then. I think we might see them take a high upside catcher in the first ten rounds, and it looks like some quality LHP's might be available when we pick in the first.
Giants: The Giants will have their mandatory mini-camp. The word out of OTA's is that Engram is a stud. We'll see if the resident stud shows up for the mini-camp. Beckham finally admitted he wants a new deal, and it's really more than a year before they should even think about that. Having said that, I think he'll get one. Mara already said he wants him to be a career Giant. So there it is.
Knicks: The Knicks will contiinue their workouts. Malik Monk, the one dimensional undersized shooting guard is coming in for a workout this week, as the Knicks continue to try to trade for more picks.
Rangers: The Rangers are preparing for their draft, but first must prepare their list for the expansion draft. Jesper Fast just had hip surgery, so that may or may not allow them to save Grabner or another player. We'll see,. They need to make some trades, but I don't think they're going to move Hank, yet.
Alright, so the MLB Draft if the big item. Starts Monday, and can't wait. Let's hope German starts tomorrow. Have a great one!
UPDATE: Tommy Layne has been DFA'd! And German has been called up, but everyone says Green will get the start. We'll see.

I am amazed at how quickly and completely the Yankees have turned this around. Baseball hadn't been fun for almost 10 years.
I disagree with Mara on almost everything these days, and I would not lock Beckman up yet. He has shown way too much bad judgment/impulse control, depending on one's p.o.v.
Looks like Green will start, with German coming in relief. I'm OK with that, personally. Lets German get his feet wet without the pressure of "starting."
Methinks after this the Yankees should send down German and call up Tyler Webb.
Who will be the long reliefe tomorrow for Tanaka?
It probably depends on whether or not Green/German can provide length.
So Sanchez is become Sanchize again.
The pen may need some shuttling tomorrow.
I definitely understood it, but not going with a high-end young pitcher is biting them hard.
OMG what a shot!
