Yanks Clobber Cards For Their 7th Straight
Well, Greg Bird's little slump is over. He homered, doubled, singled and walked in the Yanks 9-3 shellacking of the Cards. What's more, the whole team is finally grinding again. Okay, maybe not Castro, but dammit, the rest of them are working their counts and walks and it's a big part of why they've won 7 straight. Pineda was excellent once again and, like Severino the other day, only threw one bad pitch, but bounced right back after it.
Judge may have been jobbed out of a homer when a fan interfered with what looked like a homer. Judge was awararded a triple, and Bird homered on the next pitch. That's how exciting these young Yanks can be. And bravo to Chase Headley, who is grinding like the kids and getting on base at an over .500 clip. I was expecting a fun season, but tempered that when Sanchez went down, but damn, he could might have to board a speeding train when he gets back in a few weeks.

13 changes and he maintained his velocity throughout:

I was impressed with Judge's last AB. In the process of walking, he laid off two nasty called strikes and then, with a 3-2 count, fouled a few that were close and then took ball 4. That 8th inning rally kept Girardi from having to use Chapman, so it may make a difference in their next few games.
Don't wake me.
It's been a fun week for sure.
They are not seeing nearly enough pitches tonight. The first pitch swinging is bizarre.
Sevy is taking big strides forward. It would be great to see Tanaka be an ace tonight.
I hate hitters like Carter, and the all or nothing hitting approach.
Sevy is gonna throw a no-no at some point this season.
He will go as far as his changeup takes him. Hopefully, he realizes that now.
He had a plus change all through the minors and only lost it after his first year of bulking up. It's back now.
Meanwhile, Hicks and Romine are elevating their trade values.
This is FUN!
Yep. Not sure I'm ready to call this team a contender or anything, but man, they're playing great baseball so far.
Judge got so screwed on that called "strikes."
Castro is an enigma wrapped inside...
Seems like a wild game from the phone.
JUDGE RENDERS A VERDICT!!!!!!!
