Tex Goes Off Again
Yanks just smoked the White Sox 13-6 and the only reason the Sox got 6 was that they got a little careless with a big lead. Tex hit two more bombs, and had a double and a walk before making his first out. ARod was on base 5 times in a row including 3 walks. John Ryan Murphy had a single, a double and a walk. And on and on. Eovaldi was either getting squeezed or he was just really inefficient. He worked 5.2 of three run ball for his 11th win. Warren took one for the team and surendered two runs over 2.1 innings of work. Goody pitched the 9th and gave up an earned run, though he did also get a K. I assume he'll go back down tomorrow because he's worked two nights in a row. We'll see. Let's hope they bring the bats again tomorrow and help out Mitchell or whomever gets the call.

Nice to see Goody actually getting some work. And good to see Mitchell getting the nod tomorrow.
I wish Murphy could play more.
I wanted to split the job between Murphy and Romine starting last year... Murphy always had hitting talent that was gonna show up at some point.
Reflecting on Jones getting waived. In ST some thought he could take AB away from A-Rod. Now A-Rod is a near AL MVP. Pretty cool.
ARod and Tex have been awesome. Sort of reminiscent of Pops Stargell in `79, but in stereo.
From the NY Post: "Gary Sanchez isn’t necessarily thought to be the caliber of Luis Severino, Aaron Judge, Greg Bird and Jorge Mateo, but the Yankees turned down overtures from the Braves for the catcher in exchange for outfielder Cameron Maybin."
Not really sure why the Braves thought the Yankees would want Maybin given their crowded outfield.
Sanchez's value has sky rocketed lately.
Also, remember that Gordon Blakely and some other former Yankee execs are down working for the Braves now, and that's why they keep signing and trying to acquire players that they signed or were around when they were.
That's not a serious offer. It could be an attempt to open up dialogue. I suspect that someone only was told of part of the "report."
The other thing is that no one knows with certainty who of Judge, Bird, Sanchez will ultimately the best hitter.
But if Sanchez sticks at catcher, he could become the most valuable of the three.
Pretty much have to win the games CC doesn't start:
Tuesday: Masahiro Tanaka
Wednesday: Luis Severino
Thursday: CC Sabathia
Mitchell's not getting the huge strikezone that Danks has been getting and he's squeezing it a bit. Nerves.
Better. And the third base ump just gave him the break that Danks has been getting all night.
Ellsbury's slump isn't helping.
I truly think that Murphy can be better than McCann, offense/defense, right now.
Murphy is another example of a young player benefitting from not having to make an instant impression before being sent back down.
Speaking of instant I impressions, segments of the media and fan base are now panicking about the rotation because of one start by a rookie.
Saw that and rolled my eyes. Amazing how silly people can be.
