Knicks Trade Prigioni

The Knicks have at least traded Pablo Prigioni to Houston.  No word on the takeback yet.  Will update this post rather than starting new ones.

UPDATE 1: The Knicks apparently got 2 second rounders for Pablo.   No word on any other deals yet, but every PG seems to be in motion, so Calderon might be gone, too.

UPDATE 2:  The Knicks have also acquired Alexey Schved from Houston.

I think this is just wrong:

It plays out as a worst-case scenario for the Knicks, who lacked the assets to match Miami’s offer, which reportedly included two first-round picks and forward Danny Granger. With Dragic now at one of his preferred destinations, the Heat will be the favorites to re-sign him with a five-year contract this offseason when the Knicks will have plenty of cap space to wield.

And seriously, Isola is such a whiny little bitch.

Not concerned at all, as long as we keep losing and get the high pick.

Still kind of waiting to see the Zen Master do something brilliant, but haven't given up the expectation that he will, yet.

I'm fine with what they did -- cap space doesn't just mean free agents, it allows for significant flexibility in trades and the don't forget the Knicks do have 2 different trade exceptions that expire next year.

I like Dragic but I think the Knicks learned that trading assets for a guy who's a potential free agent doesn't make sense when they can just sign him in the offseason -- cough MELO cough

Is the love for Drafic overstated? Miami traded part of their future for someone they could have signed in July. I tend to agree with Hahn not smart use of assets, and overpay. I'm okay with the Knicks sitting out, and still feel that if they want Jackson, they will have a shot. Billy makes a great point with the trade exemptions, we don't need to use all the cap on free agents only..

I just hope they aren't regretting Melo's contract in a couple years. That alone maybe the tell on Jackson's tenure.

So this Bosh thing (I hope he's ok), makes Dragic more of a longer-term play.
