Knicks Buyout Amare

Almost 5 years ago, Amare Stoudemire was the only big name willing to sign with the Knicks.   Unforturnately, his knees were ticking bombs and after his first great season, he was more or less a shadow of what he had been -- and never seemed to blend with Carmelo or the other names that were brought in to play with them.  Tonight, according to the Post, the Knicks have reached a buyout agreement with #1, so he can go chase a title with one of the contenders.  They owed him that much.  He lead them back to respectability in `10-`11, and Knick fans shouldn't forget it.

In the meantime, the Knicks have another roster spot to fill.

Some people diss Melo, but unlike LeBron or Durant he has never played with anyone as good as Wade or Westbrook or Irving, etc.

That's true but he couldn't play with Amare too well and wouldn't play with Lin.

True, although I don't think he respected Lin's talent, and that part has been borne out, it may have also been a rejection of D'Antoni's system by proxy.

Also, he has never carried a team as well as Harden has this season with the injuries around him.
