Giants Officially Sign Brett Jones

So it's official and the Giants have added OL Brett Jones from the Calgary Stampeders.  I really like this signing, because I thought if we could find one piece from another market, we could save a pick, or UFA dollars.   That said, I also really liked the power, hands and feet he showed on tape.   Ranaan had one scout saying that Jones has no positional versatility.  I guess he didn't see him pulling, and constantly getting to the second level.  I'm sure the Giants do see versatility or he wouldn't be a Giant.    Also, just because a football scout is called that, it doesn't make his opinion ever trump the tape.

Anyway, let's hope this means the end for Walton.   We don't even need Jones to start as long as he can be our 2nd C and maybe 3rd G.   He's only 23, thus, should let us know if Coach Flats still has the magic.

UPDATE:  The Giants have officially released David Wilson saving 1.5 from the cap.  That was just housekeeping since he's retired.

I would still pick two OL high.

Well, figuring they pick up a starting LG or RT in FA, then 1 high pick and perhaps a couple of UDFA's could set us up for years to come.
