Rangers and Evander Kane
Evander Kane seems to have worn out his welcome with the Jets and has gone so far as to ask for a trade. The Rangers are currently looking for a C who can win faceoffs, and a 6th Dman. So should they be interested in the 23 year old LW who's already locked into a contract for at least another year. And if so, what would they have to give? See, while I like Kane's talent, I'm not super impressed with his production and not sure that -- even with a completely level head -- he'd be worth what Winnipeg will demand to get rid of their problem.
Rangers are pretty rich in LW's with Nash and Kreider and Hags, and though Hags could well be headed out at the deadline, improving C and the third D pair is probably a smarter move than picking up someone else's problem - even a gifted 23 year old - at the price of more youth and picks.

Well we know some of his team mates don't care for him, but do we know if there have been other issues??
I always have concerns when guys with huge talent do not produce, and in addition, wear out their welcome. Percy Harvin comes to mind.
These guys make plays that makes you think they are world class, but not often enough, and the accompanying headaches are not worth it.
That's why these types of players are only worth acquiring at a price that reflects current production while discounting potential.
