This Week on the Blog
So this week was a little less momentous than we expected. The Giants did pick up an interesting OL prospect and finished their paperwork on David Wilson. But there were no other moves. Maybe this week.
Yanks: Pitchers and Catchers Report! That should generate a lot more stories. In the meantime, maybe they'll make some progress on Moncada, though his amateur agent is marketing the 2/23 date as when they will decide.
Giants: The NFL Combine this week and the Giants will be out in full forces scouting it. They could also start making their cap rooms. I believe the Franchise period will start this week. So the JPP decision looms.
Rangers: The Rangers need to keep winning while Hank is out. And they too are moving toward decisions as the trade deadline approaches. Let's hope they don't waste any assets on a back up for Talbot. Let Skapsi start a game, for crying out loud. That's what farms are for.
Knicks: Knicks' trade deadline is also coming up, and we'll see if they can come up with any more room. Looks like they could be heading to a buyout with Amare, and we'll see what else they do. Melo could shut it down for surgery and to protect the pick.
So, should be an interesting week. Hope it's a great week for all of you.

Re Moncada: there is an article that says Yankees leary of price tag as dodgers lead the race. If that's true F them.
They may want pay the luxury on a $30m bonus. They would rather burn it on mediocre crap like Headley and McCann and vastly overpay Elksbury.
Melo to be shutdown.
As I have posted, I suspected the timing.
I still think he should have had the surgery when it was first recommended, and that seems to be about two months ago.
If he's fine next season, no big deal.
If not, WTF?
New thread about Melo.
