Best Wishes to Victor Cruz
In a game I couldn't believe I was watching, Victor Cruz just tore his patellar tendon going up to catch what would have been a TD had he not been overcome by agony. I love this player and wish him all the best for an easy and fluid return next season. The Giants are getting blown out, and that's one loss, but this is a far greater loss, and it's hard to see our heroes in tears. God bless #80 now and always.
We'll talk about implications tomorrow. Or Tuesday.

That looked awful. Hope you recover fully VC.

Switching Beckham to the slot would be flat out stupid.
Just trying to find a silver lining to this unfortunate incident. Perhaps we'll see real growth from Donnell and Robinson as they're forced to be a bigger part of the passing game. I'd also like to see one of the marginal guys like Washington step up and perform.
After last night, it's pretty clear that the Giants aren't ready for prime time but if they can develop a few unexpected characters this season, then the return of their talented receivers next season will do wonders for next year's team.
Coughlin's unfortunate preference for veteran-ness is giving Parker a shot over Washington, even though he sucks.
Lawyer,
Or maybe it's because Washington doesn't yet know the playbook as has been reported in a number of pieces. Meanwhile, Beckham is on the field immediately, as is Richburg and Williams.
I don't buy the Coughlin/rookies thing as he seemed to favor Kennard early in camp over established players. I suspect TC sets the bar high and the guys who can get over it get to play, whether they're rookies or established players.
The youth thing is weird. Some of it makes sense, some doesn't. For example, all DaMontre Moore does is make plays. We're in year 2 and he's still getting slow roll out. I have no idea what Fewell is thinking there.
The knock on Moore is that he makes plays but also misses assignments. Personally, I'd rather see him out there but we saw a similar situation with David Wilson. Wilson sat while Williams plays. What's the difference? Blitz pick-up.
Phil WNY
Your Washington point could explain why he gets 10 plays, but not 2-3, especially when Parker didn't even play football last year.
Wilson fumbled in his first game, and got buried. That is just myopic coaching.
As for the DL, look at how the Eagles kept moving pass rushers around. When JPP wasn't at RE, it was a newsflash.
Moore may miss assignments, but the players who play ahead of him miss tackles and the QB.
At least Moore has a chance to get better. On a talent-challenge team, that has to be the priority.
Lawyer,
You're preaching to the choir, brother. I'd love to see Moore get some reps but the rookie argument doesn't fly because Coughlin plays a ton of young guys. The only thing he insists on is that players know what they're supposed to do.
As for Washington, there has to be a reason that we're not privy to because he started Beckham right away.
I think he plays young guys when he has no choice by and large. For a while during his tenure, there was an overwhelming talent base, it has been allowed to decay and it has not been replaced as efficiently as as was needed. Under those circumstances, you have to play more young guys to catch up.
No to Mike Williams unless he is cut.
