2 Points!

The Rangers just got a huge road win against one of the favorites in the West.  Rick Nash looked like his old, pre-Ranger self as he potted the first goal of the season on a feed from Kreider, then later scored the game winner on a great pass from St. Louis.   Kreider had the other goal, earlier in the third on a great feed from Nash.  So, aside from face offs, that line was dynamite and both Nash and Kreider looked great.

This was a huge win for the Rangers because Stepan is out, and they still have to get their timing down, which is tough because they play so fast.   A little better timing anywhere and they would have scored more goals.

Girardi looked like his old self, which was a bit of a relief, as Staal and McD looked like their regular selves.   We probably should lock up Staal.

Duclair didn't get on a sheet, but he was flying around and made some great passes and fine defensive plays.   Miller was also flying around and so was Fast.   Fast appeared to injure his forearm blocking a shot, but later came back in the game.

Dan Boyle seemed to hurt his hand and did not return to the game.  That could be a problem.

Hank was pretty great, especially in the second period when the Rangers were endlessly on the kill.   He gave up 2 goals in the third, which is unusual, but at least one of those featured a big teachable defensive mistake.

I'll probably have more to say about their toughness and D tomorrow, but I've got to eat!

UPDATE:  Boyle broke his hand and is out 4-6 weeks according to the coach.   We'll see who they call up.

I heard on the post game that Maloney said that Nash was told by AB that players over 30 have to get in better shape to compensate for their age and he came to camp in as good a condition as anyone.
