Yanks Relieve Kevin Long of His Hitting Coach Job

The Yanks have begun housecleaning, and the first move they made was to fire Kevin Long.  People say that hitting coaches don't really make much of an impact, but some have over the years, and Long hasn't been in awhile.   This will be compared to the Giants parting with Gilbride.

I wonder if they'll give it to Gary Denbo.   If they don't promote from within, they need to throw some money at the problem.

UPDATE:  They have also fired first base coach Mick Kelleher.   Praying Girardi draws a line in the sand:)

UPDATE 2:  They also got rid of AAA Hitting Coach Butch Wynegar.
